Background

Shoe String Road is a major east-west collector serving the rural farming communities of Gooding Highway District and Gooding County.

The road provides access between Interstate 84 and State Highway 46. These companioned projects will make improvements to 4.3-miles of the existing 6.4-mile roadway.

The design and construction of this project is funded through both the Federal-aid Rural Program (Rural) and the Local Highway Safety Improvement Program (LHSIP), administered by the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LHTAC).

2350 Rd. to 1600 E. Rd.

The roadway will be rehabilitated and paved. This section will be 24 feet wide with a 1 foot paved shoulders and a 1 foot gravel shoulders.

1600 E. Rd. to 1700 E Rd.

The existing roadway will remain 24 to 26 feet wide. White edge lines will be installed and 2 foot gravel shoulders.
